The return game has not been a strong point for the Bucs in recent years, but Bobby Rainey is out to turn a weakness into a strength.
The veteran running back is providing Tampa Bay’s special teams with a boost, and his 58-yard punt return in the second quarter set up Jameis Winston’s 10-yard scoring pass to Doug Martin.
“When it’s our turn on special teams, we’ve got to make a play,’’ said Rainey, who finished with 85 yards on three punt returns. “On the long one, the guys did a great job up front and the punter (Bryan Anger) basically outkicked his coverage.
