TAMPA — Former NFL defensive end Chuck Smith trains pass-rushers by trade these days, and he spent eight weeks this spring preparing defensive end Noah Spence, who was selected by the Bucs in the second round on Friday night.
"He's lightning-quick off the ball, he has passion and he loves the art of pass rush," Smith said by phone from Orlando after the pick. "He's really a disciplined football player that listens to coaching, and I think he's going to be a great fit with Mike Smith, an awesome coordinator.
"(He couldn't have a better defensive line coach than the great Jay Hayes.
