TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Mike Smith is not at all pleased with the number of explosive plays his defense surrendered to the Oakland Raiders Sunday, which included a franchise-record 626 yards of total offense given up, and a franchise-record 513 passing yards from Derek Carr.
By Smith's count, the Bucs had 10 explosive plays, which for them, meant plays traveling 18 yards or more, totaling 342 yards. That doesn't bode well with the Atlanta Falcons, the NFL's highest-scoring offense and the league-leader in offensive yardage, coming to town Thursday.
