TAMPA — Buccaneers CB Johnthan Banks, the team’s first pick in the 2013 NFL draft, appears to have lost his starter’s job, but at least he can still lay claim to a roster spot.
The same cannot be said of CB Tim Jennings, who started alongside Banks in the secondary just a few weeks ago.
Jennings, who started three games before being benched, was released on Monday, when the team activated RT Demar Dotson from the Injured-Reserve/Designated for Return list. The release of Jennings, who signed on as a free agent on Sept. 7 after being released by the Bears, is just the latest in a string of moves the Bucs have made in an effort to shore up a struggling secondary.
