TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finally got the right “D-Jackson” in DeSean Jackson when they signed him to a three-year contract this week. It just took nine years, three general managers and five head coaches for that to happen after a huge mistake was made in the 2008 NFL draft.
Then-head coach Jon Gruden wanted Bruce Allen and the Bucs to select Jackson in the NFL draft. He had visited with the team and Gruden loved his speed. A source close to the situation confirmed to ESPN that the Bucs were going to select him too.
