OCOEE — Former NFL quarterback Ron Jaworski and three members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame reached for their hard hats and shovels before hitting paydirt.
“This is a historic day with a partnership that is very special,” Jaworski said Thursday during a groundbreaking ceremony to announce the opening of an initial assisted living and memory care center that will include space devoted to former NFL players. “It’s very exciting to represent our 18,000 former players on this monumental day.”
Jaworski and former Giants quarterback Joe Pisarcik are executives on the board of the NFL Alumni Association, which has partnered with Tampa-based Validus Senior Living and developer Mark Bouldin to build assisted living communities nationwide in major cities with a high concentration of retired NFL players.
