Rick Stroud takes a look at a number of reasons why suspended RB Doug Martin remains on the Buccaneers’ roster.
- The first of which is that the Bucs didn’t come away from the draft with an immediate replacement to Martin. Tampa Bay used a fifth-round pick on Jeremy McNichols, whom Stroud expects to see time as a third-down option.
- Stroud points out that the Buccaneers can afford to keep Martin and go with Jacquizz Rodgers, Charles Sims, Peyton Barber and McNichols to open the season.
