TAMPA — NBC Sports NFL writer Peter King stopped by Bucs camp on Tuesday, visited with coach Bruce Arians, spoke with quarterback Jameis Winston and took in that day’s practice session.
Then, two days later, King made a bold prediction regarding the Bucs' first-round draft pick.
On Thursday night, King — who is traveling through the country visiting every NFL camp — threw out the first pitch at a Pensacola Blue Wahoos minor-league baseball game. Before doing so, he was asked for the scoop about who the best rookies will be this year.
Teasing that his interviewer must be fishing for fantasy football advice, King shied away from offering insight about any rookie offensive players, but predicted that Bucs insider linebacker Devin White would be this season's NFL defensive rookie of the year.
