TAMPA — In a 10-minute ceremony sure to evoke 37-year-old memories, Doug Williams is bringing it all back home Sunday.
The quarterback who led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to three playoff berths in a five-year span before leaving in a 1983 contract dispute will have his name and No. 12 jersey memorialized on a facade at Raymond James Stadium as he joins the franchise’s Ring of Honor during halftime.
Surrounded by family and former teammates, Williams intends to keep his remarks brief before the Bucs and Atlanta Falcons return to the field for a matchup dotted with playoff implications.
