INDIANAPOLIS — For anyone thinking the Tampa Bay Buccaneers might simply turn their feature running back duties over to current backup Charles Sims should they lose Doug Martin in free agency, think again.
Bucs general manager Jason Licht has thought that scenario through and when asked about it during a break at the NFL Scouting Combine this week he had to concede that he’s unsure how that would work out.
“We really like Charles Sims,’’ Licht said of the third-year pro the Bucs drafted in the third round (69th overall) in 2014. “We love him in his role.
