TAMPA, Fla. -- When asked about his play in the season’s first half, Lavonte David offered a blunt assessment.
“It’s not what I wanted it to be,” the Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker said Thursday. “A lot of things to improve on. Basically, [it's about] understanding where I’m supposed to be. And basically, me personally, it’s just [about] me just finishing plays. That’s all there is to it."
David figured to be one of the top producers on the Bucs’ defense this season, but he has been less noticeable than last year. He has 69 tackles through eight games compared to 89 at the same point in 2014.
