TAMPA, Fla. -- It didn't matter to Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David that he never got a text back. When he saw teammate Doug Martin for the first time this offseason, the two hugged. In fact, Martin was so excited, he ran up to him.
"It was great, man," David said. "To see him come back in great shape, smiling, happy -- we know there [were] no worries. There were no questions thrown out, nothing like that. We knew he was back to himself and would be ready to go."
Martin left the team with one game remaining last year to serve a four-game PED suspension and check himself into a drug treatment facility.
