Jude Adjei-Barimah could miss the season with a knee injury

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have lost backup cornerback Jude Adjei-Barimah for the season. ESPN’s Jenna Laine reports Adjei-Barimah has a patellar fracture that needs surgery and would keep him out for four months, though Adjei-Barimah is currently getting a second opinion.

If that diagnosis and prognosis doesn’t change, the Bucs will have to play the season without their top backup cornerback. That’s a bit of a blow—Adjei-Barimah might have won the slot cornerback role, but was going to be the first player off the bench behind Vernon Hargreaves and Brent Grimes

Adje-Barimah entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent two years ago, and earned himself a roster spot and a lot of playing time on defense, primarily as a slot cornerback.
