The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have inducted John Lynch into their Ring of Honor today, at half-time during the game against the Falcons on Thursday Night Football.
Lynch played 11 seasons for the Bucs after being drafted in the third round of the 1993 NFL draft. It took the safety a few years to adjust to the NFL, but he flourished under Tony Dungy and became a key part of the Bucs’ dominant defense and eventual championship team, winning a Super Bowl in the 2002-03 season.
With the Bucs, Lynch was an enforcer at safety, playing in and around the box and being a force over the middle of the field and against the run.
