A Jacksonville player may have sustained a concussion that caused him to turn and block a Tampa Bay player rather than try to tackle the Buccaneers’ Bobby Rainey on a 58-yard-punt return Sunday, Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said.
On Rainey’s return in the second quarter Sunday, Jaguars running back Bernard Pierce turned to block Tampa Bay’s D.J. Swearinger as Rainey advanced through a gap left by Pierce.
“When I saw it, I couldn’t believe it, but I know he’s in the concussion protocol,” Bradley told reporters Monday. “I know after the game he had concussion symptoms. That’s where I’ll leave it at that.
