Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Jacquies Smith has suffered a setback during his recovery from a knee injury and will require a procedure on his knee, head coach Dirk Koetter told the media today, per the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Scott Smith. Koetter said Smith would be out for a couple of weeks, according Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.
Smith suffered a torn ACL during the first game of the 2016 season and has yet to hit the practice field since then. The Bucs placed him on the Physically Unable to Perform list two days ago, and it’s unclear when he’ll be able to come off it, let alone when he’ll be fit and ready to play in a regular season game.
