Glazer gives $4M to renamed Jewish community center

TAMPA — The new Jewish Community Center campus under construction at the historic West Tampa armory will be named after Tampa Bay Buccaneers co-owner Bryan Glazer, who made a $4 million donation to the project.

The center, under construction at the Fort Homer W. Hesterly Armory on Howard Avenue, will be named the Bryan Glazer Family JCC, officials announced at a groundbreaking ceremony today attended by U.S. Congresswoman Kathy Castor, Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and other elected officials.

Glazer, who recently married, said the campus will be an important part of the revitalization of West Tampa and that he wanted the area to have a place for families.
