TAMPA — There’s been speculation that if Gerald McCoy plays for the Bucs this season, it may not be for the $13 million he is owed for 2019.
That money is not guaranteed and Bucs coach Bruce Arians has openly questioned whether after nine seasons McCoy’s production matches his compensation. Furthermore, the team has remained non-committal when asked about McCoy’s future with the team.
But to date, the Bucs have had no discussions about McCoy re-negotiating his contract to remain with the team.
Not surprisingly, McCoy was not among the players attending the start of the Bucs’ organized team activities Tuesday.
