Ex-Bucs OL Coleman arrested on felony gun, battery charges

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive lineman Cosey Coleman faces felony charges following his arrest Monday night at his Town ‘N Country home.

According to Hillsborough County jail records, Coleman, 37, faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony; and battery, a third-degree felony.

Coleman was arrested at his home by Tampa police around 11:30 a.m. Monday and released hours later after posting $15,000 bond, jail records show.

The arrest stems from an incident that occurred Jan. 11 at Ducky’s Sports Lounge, 1719 W. Kennedy Blvd., according to a police report.

According to the police report, Coleman was caught on video intentionally striking 40-year-old Rico Jemarte Simmons of Tampa with his fist, knocking him to the ground.
