No surprise: running back Jacquizz Rodgers has been ruled out for the Thursday night game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons.
With Doug Martin also ruled out, the Bucs will likely turn to undrafted rookie Peyton Barber, boom-or-bust veteran Antone Smith and the newly-resigned Mike James to carry the running game. Defensive tackle Clinton McDonald was also ruled out.
In slightly better news, defensive end William Gholston was listed as participating fully in practice today, and should be fine for Thursday night. Wide receiver Russell Shepard’s participation is more in doubt, as he was still listed as limited, which is why the Bucs are saying his official status is Doubtful.
