TAMPA, Fla. -- Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton took the snap and looked for tight end Greg Olsen on a two-point conversion attempt that would have won the game.
Instead, Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Bradley McDougald got in front of a slipping Olsen, with the ball bouncing off his shoulder pad. It gave the Bucs a 17-16 win and a 9-7 record for the season.
It was the first time the Bucs had produced a winning season since 2010. Fans jumped to their feet. The song "I've Got a Feeling" began to blare over the speakers at Raymond James Stadium as players hugged on the sideline.
