There weren’t a whole lot of position groups that were worse in 2017 than the Buccaneers’ defensive line. Coming in dead last in the league in quarterback pressures and sacks was a slap in the face of General Manager Jason Licht’s preparation for the season and belief that that the defensive line was close.
They relied heavily on Noah Spence and Jacquies Smith which turned out to be a massive mistake.
Now the Bucs have added Jason Pierre-Paul Vinny Curry, Beau Allen, Mitch Unrein, and Vita Vea to change the culture of the line in hopes that the pressure will not only be put on opposing offensive lines and quarterbacks, but take the pressure off the Bucs’ own secondary.
