You shouldn’t be surprised if you’ve followed this team over the past decade. Outside of brief stints in 2013 and 2016, the defensive play in Tampa Bay hasn’t been up to par since 2007.
Not much has changed in 2019. The same issue that has haunted the Bucs in the past continues to haunt them, and that’s the pass defense. According to standard statistics, the Buccaneers currently own the leagues’ 31st-ranked pass defense. It doesn’t get much better when it comes to advanced stats, either.
