Chris Godwin looked like a bit of a steal in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers snagged him because they didn’t expect him to fall that far, and they like physical, productive, relatively polished receivers like Godwin.
Of course, there were reasons why Godwin fell, too. A lack of explosiveness, for instance. So far, though, Godwin has shown up consistently throughout the offseason. The results are so good that Dirk Koetter even compared him to veterans—a rare honor for a rookie.
