The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will activate running back Charles Sims today, and promote wide receiver Donteea Dye to the active roster. They’re waiving center Josh Allen and veteran defensive tackle John Hughes to make room for them. All of that per Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times.
Sims was placed on injured reserve after four games this year, and this is the first week he was allowed to return. NFL teams are allowed to let one player return from injured reserve every year.
Sims was very productive last season as a change-of-pace and receiving back, racking up over 1,000 yards from scrimmage, so his return should give the Bucs offense a boost.
