TAMPA — The perpetrator of five offensive pass interference penalties last year, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans is hoping to do a better job of controlling his emotions during the upcoming season.
According to fellow wideout Vincent Jackson, Evans is well on his way to achieving that objective.
The unquestioned leader of the Bucs’ receiving corps, Jackson says the 6-foot-7, 231-pound Evans has matured markedly since last season and is well on his way to replacing him as his position group’s new leader.
“He’s already coming out here leading drills and talking to younger guys, and it’s exciting to see a guy in his third year have that kind of maturity and transition so soon,’’ Jackson said.
