TAMPA — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers produced two potential weekly award winners during their 38-31 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars last Sunday.
Quarterback Jameis Winston has been nominated for the NFL’s Pepsi Rookie of Week award and running back Doug Martin is a candidate for the league’s FedEx Ground award.
Winston, who was named Rookie of the Week following his Week 2 performance during a victory at New Orleans, completed 13 of 19 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown against the Jaguars.
Martin, meanwhile, ran for a season-high 123 yards and two touchdowns against what was then the fourth-ranked rushing defense in the league.
