TAMPA, Fla. -- As if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' running back situation couldn't possibly get any worse, another has been lost for the season. Antone Smith suffered a knee injury in Thursday night's 43-28 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
"Unfortunately, Antone suffered a significant injury and I think that would probably be a season-ending injury, it looks like," head coach Dirk Koetter said Friday. "That would be the same for Howard Jones, a season-ending injury."
Smith rushed for 25 yards on five touches, averaging 5.0 yards per carry. He caught three passes for 27 receiving yards before having to leave the field on a cart.
