Needing healthy depth for Thursday's preseason finale, the Bucs have signed former Boston College and Titans defensive end Mehdi Abdesmad to their 90-man roster, six days before they'll cut down to 53 players.
Abdesmad, 25, was cut by the Titans last week — he spent all of his rookie year with Tennessee, first with three months on the team's practice squad, then two games on the active roster (registering one tackle) before going on injured reserve with an ankle injury.
The Bucs are shorthanded at end, with Jacquies Smith recovering from knee surgery and DaVonte Lambert sidelined Saturday with a dislocated wrist.
