TAMPA — The Buccaneers on Wednesday completed the task of signing their 2015 draft class in signing guard Ali Marpet, a second-round selection, to a four-year contract, according to Bucs general manager Jason Licht.
Marpet, a product of Division III Hobart College taken 61st overall, was the second of two offensive lineman drafted by the Bucs in the second round, after tackle Donovan Smith. Marpet (6-foot-3, 307 pounds) first impressed the Bucs during Senior Bowl workouts in January, then again during the scouting combine in Indianapolis in February.
Marpet and Smith are competing for starting spots at left tackle and right guard, respectively, during offseason workouts.
