Bucs add a familiar face in former Bears cornerback Jennings
MIAMI — So much for nothing significant happening in the final quarter of the preseason.
Midway through the fourth quarter Thursday night against the Dolphins, general manager Jason Licht announced that the Bucs added a key piece to their secondary, agreeing to terms with two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Tim Jennings.
Jennings, 31, who visited with Bucs on Tuesday after being released by the Bears, has no shortage of familiar faces at One Buc Place. He played three seasons for Bucs coach Lovie Smith and cornerbacks coach Gill Byrd in Chicago from 2010-12, played for Bucs defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier as a rookie with the Colts in 2006, and current Bucs Chris Conte, Henry Melton and Major Wright are among his former Bears teammates.
