Bucs Sign Beau Allen to Strengthen Middle

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hope to improve upon the NFL's 23rd-ranked rush defense, and they quickly found help in free agency from a player with a newly-minted Super Bowl ring.

Defensive tackle Beau Allen, who played his first four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles before becoming an unrestricted free agent on Thursday, has signed a 3-year deal to join the Buccaneers. In Philadelphia, he was an active member of the NFL's top-ranked run defense.

The Bucs had a clear need in the middle of their defensive line, despite having a six-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle in Gerald McCoy.
