TAMPA — The Bucs suffered their first injury of training camp on Sunday when safety Orion Stewart was carted off the field with an apparent right knee injury.
During 11-on-11 drills, Stewart was covering tight end Cameron Brate when Stewart’s legs became tangled with Brate while attempts to make a play on the ball. He came down awkwardly and rolled to the ground out of bounds in obvious pain.
He was quickly attended to by team doctors, who were examining his right knee, and carted off the field.
Stewart has been receiving second-team reps at safety through the first three days of full-team workouts.
