TAMPA — Bucs rookie linebacker Devin White is learning on the fly, and he has already gained one lesson going into the official start of his first training camp: teammate O.J. Howard is one of the best tight ends in the league.
Covering tight ends will be one of White’s primary responsibilities in the 3-4 defensive scheme installed by new defensive coordinator Todd Bowles. And White believes there can’t be a better way to prepare for that task than covering Howard in practice every day.
"O.J. Howard is not a tight end," White said Thursday when asked about Howard.
