TAMPA — At the pancake house, a couple sat in the next booth over. They recognized the voice. That voice. Brenda and Charlie Rivas asked to take a picture. Snap. They walked away on air. The server reappeared. She had to ask. Two of her tables needed to know.
"Are you Tony Dungy?"
Tony Dungy, the pride of Tampa Bay, smiled softly and said he was.
"Usually, you get the love as a coach when you win," Dungy said. "So, this is unique, to get that without really winning. It's pretty unique."
Dungy never did win a Super Bowl with the Bucs.
