TAMPA, Fla. -- Buccaneers running backs Charles Sims and Jacquizz Rodgers both returned to practice Wednesday.
Sims has been on injured reserve since suffering a knee injury in Week 4 and Rodgers has missed the last three games with a foot injury.
As the Buccaneers' player designated to return from injured reserve, Sims has begun his 21-day practice period where the team must decide whether to re-activate him onto the team's 53-man roster. NFL rules used to require teams to make a designation on a player's return from IR. While it can still only be one player per team, teams no longer have to declare who that player is in advance.
