TAMPA --The Bucs held their seventh annual Cut for a Cure event on Thursday, as team staff and players received buzzcuts and had their hair colored to benefit pediatric cancer awareness and research.
The event raised more than $100,000 for the Tampa-based National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Over the past seven years, the Bucs have raised more than $400,000 for the non-profit charity, which is focused on fund research to fast-track less toxic, more targeted treatments by partnering with 24 leading hospitals nationwide.
“Every day 43 children as diagnosed with cancer,” Bucs chief operating officer Brian Ford said.
