TAMPA — Days after the Bucs promoted Ben Steele to tight ends coach, the team made several corresponding moves to its coaching and scouting staff, starting with former Jefferson quarterback Zack Grossi being promoted to become an offensive quality control coach.
Grossi, a 2009 Jefferson graduate who played at Concord University, has had a quick rise with the Bucs since 2014, first as a scouting assistant, then a pro scout, then spending last season as assistant to the head coach.
In other moves:
• Former tight end Alex Smith, who played four of his 11 seasons in Tampa Bay, was added as a pro scout.
