Bucs notes: QB Ryan under fire amid Falcons' 4-game losing streak

TAMPA — The Falcons are in the midst of a four-game tailspin, and it’s no surprise the man standing under center is taking most of the heat.

Quarterback Matt Ryan is struggling with five interceptions in the past two games, and Atlanta averaged only 15.4 points in its past five games heading into Sunday’s road matchup against the Bucs. Ryan threw for 397 yards and two touchdowns against Tampa Bay a month ago in a 23-20 overtime setback that triggered this prolonged slump.

“Quarterbacks are normally like the franchise of an organization,’’ said RB Devonta Freeman, who is expected to return for the Falcons on Sunday after missing last week’s game with a concussion.
