TAMPA — The Buccaneers could have rookie LB Kwon Alexander at their disposal for Sunday’s game at Indianapolis.
One day after Alexander said he expects to be suspended for four games for a violation of the NFL’s policy on performance enhancing drugs, the Bucs still had not received official notification of the violation, coach Lovie Smith said.
The absence of that official word could prove critical for Alexander, who said he intends to appeal the suspension.
Rules in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NFL and the NFL Players’ Association give a player five business days to file an appeal in such matters.
