TAMPA — Two-minute drills and oppressive heat gave way to strikes and spares in cool comfort Thursday as Buccaneers coach Lovie Smith surprised players by canceling the final session of a three-day mandatory minicamp.
When the team arrived at One Buc Place for a morning workout, Smith directed players to a bus caravan headed for a local bowling alley, where they competed within their position groups.
Nebraska rookie WR Kenny Bell turned in the best game, posting a score of 204.
“Kenny Bell was the best, hands down,” veteran WR Vincent Jackson said. “He said he owns like five bowling balls.
