MIAMI GARDENS — If there’s any such thing as a breakout preseason, Bucs DL William Gholston might be having it.
A fourth-round pick of the Bucs in 2013, Gholston went into the preseason finale with the second-most tackles on the team (11), three tackles for loss and a forced fumble.
The Bucs have long thought Gholston possesses the physical ability to be an impact player, and DT Gerald McCoy believes he’s proving it now that he’s just playing the game instead of thinking so much.
“Eliminating thinking allows you to play fast, and that’s what he’s doing,” McCoy said.
