TAMPA — Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy said Thursday he is hopeful he’ll be able to play against the Falcons on Sunday after having “a small procedure done’’ on one of his hands.
McCoy said he injured his hand during the first half of the Bucs’ loss to the Colts last week but played through it in the second half before undergoing the procedure after the game.
McCoy, who leads the Bucs in sacks with seven, had the two middle fingers on his left hand taped and struggled to use that hand to fasten buttons on his shirt following the game last week.
