TAMPA, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were back practicing in pads Saturday after Thursday night's preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, and several players were missing in action, including starting left tackle Donovan Smith and first-round draft pick Vernon Hargreaves III.
"Donovan has the flu so he's home in bed. ... that's where he was," head coach Dirk Koetter said after practice. "As we said yesterday, we've got some guys that are a little banged up. Saturday practice ... players have tomorrow off. I would expect that we'll be in pretty good shape on Monday.
