TAMPA — Tampa Bay Buccaneers All-Pro linebacker Lavonte David might not have a contract extension waiting for him when he reports to One Buc Place for training camp on Friday.
But that won’t keep him from continuing to try to get one.
Unlike Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who reportedly will break off contract negotiations once camp opens, David has no self-imposed deadline to get a deal done.
“Definitely not,’’ David’s agent, Ron Butler, wrote in an email Thursday to The Tampa Tribune. “We will continue to try to get something done. No deadlines in this negotiation.
