TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers went into the 2015 season hoping to get more impact plays out of weakside linebacker Lavonte David. So far they’re getting exactly what they asked for.
David recorded just four pass breakups and four forced fumbles last year, but he’s already well on his way to eclipsing those totals.
Through two games David has recorded one forced fumble and two pass breakups, both of which came last week against the Saints.
“We’d love to see him come up with the catch on one or two of those, but to be in the position that he was in, those were drive stoppers,’’ Bucs defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier said.
