TAMPA — Brandon Myers is eager to step onto the big stage.
Signed as a free agent 18 months ago, the veteran tight end has started only seven games with the Bucs. Myers assumed a backup role in 2014 to second-round draft pick Austin Seferian-Jenkins, butnow has another chance.
Seferian-Jenkins is expected to miss at least a month with a shoulder injury. Myers, who caught 79 passes for the Raiders three years ago, has 22 receptions in 16 games with Tampa Bay and will be looking for his first catch of the year Sunday at Houston.
“This is nothing new for me because I prepare each week like I’m the starter,’’ Myers said.
