TAMPA — Jameis Winston is stressing patience, and not just for himself.
Tampa Bay’s rookie quarterback could be playing behind an offensive line that features two rookie starters in LT Donovan Smith and RG Ali Marpet. Through three preseason games, pass protection has been an issue.
“As a quarterback, our job is to not focus on the negatives,’’ Winston said Monday. “At Florida State we had some early pressures. We had a very young line – had a young center that started for us. Some of these guys weren’t even on the team last year. They have to get ready, see different looks and get some reps so they can be able to perfect their craft.
