The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could have their worst offensive game of the season in their season finale against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday and still break the franchise record for net yards gained in a season.
That record, set by the 2012 team, stands at 5,820 yards, which means the current Bucs, with 5,628 yards, need to gain only 192 yards to establish the standard.
Even against the Panthers’ fourth-ranked defense, that shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
The Bucs are averaging 375 yards per game this year, seventh overall in the league, and their season-low was the 273 net yards gained during their season-opening loss to the Tennessee Titans.
