Bucs, Hillsborough County hit snag in Raymond James Stadium renovation

TAMPA — The owners of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are nearing a deal to pay as much as $75 million toward a $100 million makeover of Raymond James Stadium that would be completed in time for the January 2017 college football title game and may help secure a fifth Super Bowl.

The stadium enhancements, which would include massive high definition scoreboards, a new surround sound system, video board control room and other items, are part of an agreement the Bucs, Hillsborough County and the Tampa Sports Authority, which will share in the construction costs, have been working on since January.
